Travelable provides people with disabilities with relevant travel and tourist information. This information is collected, edited and updated in cooperation with local stakeholders, and presented on an easy-to-use site dedicated to a specific city or region.

Travelable is a project of the non-profit organization Sozialhelden.e.V. The makers of Wheelmap.org, the world’s largest online map for wheelchair accessible places with more than 640,000 places worldwide as of March 2016, strive to bring disability topics into the mainstream and to offer practical solutions for people with disabilities. With the project “Leidmedien.de”, for instance, the organization advocates for using language that is free of disability stereotypes.
